Adrenal Fatigue

Do you feel exhausted? Are you constantly stressed? Are you regularly overwhelmed? You may be suffering from adrenal fatigue.

The Age Management Center of New England specializes in anti-aging medicine and hormone replacement therapy and has helped a host of patients recover from the challenging condition of adrenal fatigue.

What is Adrenal Fatigue?

Adrenal glands are responsible for producing cortisol, the hormone that combats stress. Adrenal fatigue disrupts the body’s ability to produce the appropriate amounts of cortisol at the right time in response to everyday stressors. This disruption can result in reduced energy levels and feelings of exhaustion and fatigue.

There are three stages of adrenal fatigue associated with cortisol imbalances. In the first stage of adrenal fatigue, people experience high cortisol levels, which can lead to insomnia, abdominal weight gain and insulin resistance. The second stage of adrenal fatigue is characterized by cortisol levels peaking early in the day and flattening out until early evening. People experiencing this stage of adrenal fatigue often feel tired throughout the day. During the third stage of adrenal fatigue, patients’ cortisol levels remain low consistently and they experience regular exhaustion regardless of how much sleep they are getting.

Common Symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue:

  • Low blood pressure
  • Fatigue
  • Body aches
  • Loss of body hair
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Weight change
  • Heightened feelings of stress
  • Weakened immune system
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Low libido

Hormone Replacement Therapy for Adrenal Fatigue

The Age Management Center treats adrenal fatigue using leading hormone replacement therapies and evidence-based supplements, including herbal medicines and high-quality vitamins. Our restorative treatments help regulate and optimize your hormone levels to replenish the adrenal glands and improve your overall wellbeing. During your initial consultation, we will review your specific conditions, general health and medical history, and determine if our therapies are the appropriate solution to best address your needs. We may also use specific laboratory tests to assess your cortisol levels and track treatment progress.

When will I experience results?

Results may vary from patient to patient. You may experience some improvement within a few days of the start of your hormone replacement therapy. Most patients begin to experience results within three to six months of beginning their hormone replacement therapy.
